The Life of C
¿QUIÉN es C?
¡Hola!
Siempre he escuchado que la gente dice que “la tercera es la vencida”, así que después de dos intentos fallidos de empezar (y mantener vivo) un blog, me encuentro aquí. The Life of C (anteriormente The Not-So-Simple Life of C.) empezó a mediados de junio de 2015, poco antes de terminar la carrera de Diseño y Negocios de la Moda. La ropa, y como interactuamos con ella, ha sido algo que llamaba mi atención desde chica. No, yo no fui de esas personas que dicen que siempre supo lo que quiso estudiar, pero si sé que siempre hubieron señales que guiaban mi camino a lo que verdaderamente me hacía feliz.
Hay tres cosas que verdaderamente me apasionan: el arte, la moda y escribir. The Life of C. es el espacio en donde puedo explorar estos temas, y como me relaciono y evoluciono con ellos. Es un recuento de mi vida y mis ideas a través de estos tres lentes. Mi cabeza y mis ideas suelen ser un caos total; escribir me da la oportunidad de tomarme el tiempo de ponerlas en orden.
La moda es, en mi opinión, una de las formas de comunicación no-verbal más importantes. A través de lo que usamos, transmitimos muchísimos más sentimientos y más información de la que nos damos cuenta. Hay un proceso inconsciente que nos lleva a vestirnos de la manera en que lo hacemos, afectados por factores sociales, económicos, políticos, y cualquier otro que tenga un impacto directo sobre nuestras vidas. La moda es el historiador más fiel, y muchas veces uno de los más olvidados. El estilo personal, y lo que expresamos a través de él, van más allá de usar ropa bonita, o de reglas de que (o que no) usar; más bien responden a la propia naturaleza creativa del ser humano.
En este espacio plasmo la evolución de mi estilo, mis pensamientos y el amor que tengo por mi misma. Mis palabras son mi espada y mi escudo para proteger y defender lo que soy y lo que quiero ser. Gracias por estar aquí y dejarme compartir esto contigo.

I’ve always heard people say that “the third time’s the charm”, so after two failed attempts to start a blog (and keep it alive), I find myself here. The Life of C (previously The Not-So-Simple Life of C.) started mid-June of 2015, a few months before getting my Fashion Design and Business degree. Clothing, and how we interact with it, has been something I was attracted to since I was a little kid. No, while I certainly wasn’t one of those people who claim to have known all along what they wanted to devote their life to, there were always little signs, though, pointing me towards what would make me truly happy.
There’s three things I’m passionate about: art, fashion, and writing. The Life of C. is the space I created where I can explore these topics, and how I relate and evolve with them. It’s the story of my life, through these three different lenses. My head and my ideas are usually absolute chaos. Writing gives me the chance to take my time and force myself to find a method and an order to the madness.
Fashion, at least in my opinion, is one of the strongest forms of non-verbal communication we have as humans. Through our clothes, we are constantly sending out messages to the world, letting people we come in contact with who we are and what we’re all about. There’s a subconscious process that goes on in our brains. It leads us to dress the way we dress, and it’s affected by everything that surrounds us. Fashion is one of history’s biggest and most loyal storytellers, though oftentimes it’s overlooked and ignored. Personal style, and what each of us expresses through it, goes beyond pretty clothing or a specific set of rules. It’s linked to our human nature, to that creative piece we all have.
This is the space where I record my style evolution, my thoughts, and the love I have for myself. My words have become a sword and shield in what I’ve found to be a constant battle of staying true to myself and defending my ideas. Thanks for being here, and letting me share this with you.
